IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION
The ADA and CSDA both recognize dental settings have unique characteristics that warrant specific infection control considerations. GDG strives not to be a vector site for COVID-19 by taking many precautions to ensure that COVID-19 is not spread under our care. GDG requires patients enter the building wearing a mask in all common areas until they reach the dental operatories where the rooms are disinfected and separate HEPA filtered ventilation systems are effectively in use. Our staff is trained in infection control and in dealing with COVID-19 protocol.
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of reported symptoms. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with the following symptoms need to reschedule their dental appointments to reduce the possibility of spread. COVID-19 symptoms include but are not limited to: Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea.
The CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness and need to feel safe in our dental environment.
