In addition, metal-based fillings are aesthetically compromised. Our white fillings are cosmetically matched to look like your natural tooth fillings. We use state-of-the-art materials such Emax porcelain, Zirconia, and Composite. These materials have the double advantage of giving strength back to your teeth and being healthier for your mouth and your general health. These stronger, more durable materials have been developed to withstand the chewing pressure of back teeth and to create a better bonded seal with your teeth.
Advantages:
• More affordable than crowns
• More natural look and feel
• More comfortable for those with sensitivity to heat or cold
• Avoids potential negative health response to mercury fillings
The Process:
A porcelain or resin inlay or onlay is used when the extent of the tooth’s decay creates a cavity that is too big for a white resin filling but isn’t so big that a crown is required. An inlay is a filling within the cusp tips of the tooth. Onlays (also known as “overlays”) will overlay one or more cusps in order to protect and strengthen the tooth.
